WHISTLESTOP TOWNHOMES: 2220 Yajome Street, Napa
WhistleStop Townhomes was completed in 2000 for a total development cost of $3 million dollars. It is owned and managed by NVCH. This is a seventeen unit rental development located on just less than two acres in central Napa.
Funding was provided by a conventional loan initially issued by Bank of America and then sold to Pacific Life Insurance. The State HOME program provided additional funding as well as the County of Napa, and two other programs, the Affordable Housing Program of the Federal Home Loan Bank and the Supportive Housing Program funded by HUD. Napa Valley vintners provided much needed grants to close the financing gap.
The other fourteen homes are permanent housing for income eligible families. The amenities include a community room, small playground, community garden and an onsite laundry facility.
