Celebrating the 2026 Rising Star Scholars
On May 12, Napa Valley Community Housing gathered at Napa Valley College to celebrate one of our favorite traditions: the Rising Star Scholarship Awards.
This year’s event brought together students, families, donors, sponsors, board members, staff, and community partners for an evening rooted in pride, possibility, and encouragement. At the center of it all were ten outstanding scholars from NVCH communities, each taking meaningful steps toward their education, career goals, and future dreams.
The Rising Star Scholarship is about more than a financial award. It is a celebration of perseverance, ambition, and the support systems that help young people keep going. Each scholar recognized this year carries their own story of hard work and determination, and we were honored to pause, celebrate them, and remind them that their community is cheering them on.
A special part of the evening was recognizing the scholars alongside their VIPs: Very Important People and Parents. These are the family members, mentors, and loved ones who have offered support, encouragement, rides, meals, advice, patience, and belief along the way. Their presence made the celebration even more meaningful.
Throughout the evening, guests shared food, conversation, applause, and plenty of smiles as each scholar was recognized. The program included an inspiring keynote, words of encouragement from NVCH leadership, and a room full of people united by one simple message: we believe in these students and the futures they are building.
